ZyXEL, a Taiwan-based supplier of broadband internet connectivity products, has implemented France-based Sequans Communications's new generation 65nm mobile WiMAX chip to build mobile WiMAX end user devices.
Sequans' new chip, the SQN1210, is claimed to integrate baseband and triple band RF in a single 65nm die. The first device ZyXEL is bringing to market is a tiny USB device that will provide mobile laptop users with WiMAX connectivity.
Yuh-Long Chen, president of ZyXEL, said: "ZyXEL's WiMAX solutions always deliver the best benefit and performance to our customers. Collaboration with Sequans strengthens us to build the highest performing Mobile WiMAX devices possible, devices that deliver very high performance with minimal power consumption for truly mobile capability."
