Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd., or HMSI, has opened a new technical center which combines an integrated system of DEBQ, or design, engineering, BOP/Purchasing and Quality, under one roof.
Spread over 10,000 square meters in HMSI Manesar facility, the New Technical Center engages 200 engineers from Honda R&D India (HRID) and HMSI associates.
Honda's New Technical Center houses the Wind Tunnel facility which simulates air flow situation to monitor aerodynamics and its effect on models to develop fuel efficient two-wheelers. The facility's engineering and styling design also incorporates equipment like chassis dynamo, bench dynamo, layout machines, SEM microscope etc, the company said.
Honda has also launched the new Honda Eco technology across Activa, Aviator & Dio. The new Honda Eco Technology boosts fuel efficiency of Honda's automatic scooters by 11%, resulting in a Mileage of 60 kilometer/liter (Mileage based on internal Honda test ride mode that is close to actual city riding conditions), the company added.
