ASUS announces launch of new Windows 8 tablet

ASUS, a provider of computer hardware and electronics, has announced the launch of VivoTab, a Windows 8 tablet.

The Asus VivoTab TF810C is a Windows 8 tablet with an 11.6 inch, 1366 x 768 pixel Super IPS+ display, an Intel Atom Z2760 Clover Trail processor, and an optional keyboard dock which doubles the computer's battery life, the company said.

This model also features a Wacom active digitizer which let users write or draw on the screen using a pressure-sensitive digital pen. The tablet features WiFi, Bluetooth, an 8MP rear camera and a 2MP front-facing camera.

Since the VivoTab TF810C has an x86 processor and runs the full Windows 8 operating system, it can handle Windows apps including software written for Windows 7 and earlier.

ASUS VivoTab has a 1.8GHz Intel Atom Z2760 dual-core processor with enhanced performance and energy efficiency allowing Windows 8 to run both, the latest software and legacy applications, the company added.
