'A' Rating For Higher Income Fund Standard Life Investments Goes From Strength To Strength

COMPANY PRESS RELEASE: Just weeks after breaking through the £100m sales barrier, Standard Life Investments' Higher Income Fund has been awarded a prestigious 'A' rating by Standard & Poor's Fund Services

It is also one of four funds whose outstanding performance contributed to the company being awarded Fixed Income Fund Group of the Year at the Fund Strategy Awards 2001, supported by Lipper in May.

Commenting on behalf of Standard Life Investments, Paul Pasquill, investment director of mutual funds, said:

"This is excellent news for our clients and a clear endorsement of the investment approach developed by our fixed income team. This has been recognised both by IFAs and end customers who have found the combination of excellent performance, below average charges, flexible income options and an attractive yield very appealing."

The Higher Income Fund has performed strongly since launch. A client who invested £7,000 in the Higher Income ISA at launch (7 February 2000) would have already received five tax-free income payments totalling more than £600 while increasing the cash value of the fund (to 31 May 2001) to £7,298.87.
